ST ANDREW'S SOCIETY FOR LADIES IN

NEED

EXTRACTS FROM LADIES LETTERS

"I honestly do not know how to thank you for the money you have sent me over the last year. To be honest without it life would be on the verge of impossible. It allowed me to purchase a new winter coat and shoes along with the ability to stock my freezer and food cupboard. I honestly do not know how I would have managed without it. Thank you so very much."

"Thank you so much for the cheque which arrived today. You have no idea (or have you?) what a difference this makes. No more worries over making ends meet. Or affording a new pair of shoes. God bless you all at St Andrew's Society."

"I really can't thank you enough for all that you have done for our sister. I shall never forget the phone call telling us that you were prepared to help in providing for the shortfall in fees. That financial assistance came like a miracle at a very difficult time for us as a family and without it our sister would not have been able to go to this particular care home.Without your support and the help of other charities her already difficult like would have been very much the poorer. 'Thank you' seems a totally inadequate word for all that you have done for our sister over the past few years and all that it has meant to her, and us."

"I just want to say a huge thank-you for my Christmas Gift. It was a complete surprise to me to receive it but I am so grateful. As you know, it has been a very difficult time for me and so to receive kindness like this really knocked me sideways! Please do pass on my thanks to all concerned."

"Thank you very much for your kind email bearing news of help in my purchasing a new cooker. I am so grateful following a difficult Christmas, further health issues and issues with the kitchen - it has come as a ray of hope. I am just so grateful for this help. I am sure that many other ladies like myself who, having had a productive career and having raised families, then to find themselves later on in life alone and ill, life itself can become pretty desolate. Being unable to provide for yourself the basic means of existence is not something I had ever dreamt would have become of me and yet here I am. Having never received charitable help before I can honestly say that, far beyond the financial help, it is the sense of worth and value that comes from being a beneficiary of such help. It brings renewed hope. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

"I cannot begin to thank you for the support you have given me in helping to fund my new kitchen. This is going to make life a whole lot simpler and will enable me to be much safer cooking my meals. I lost my husband 38 years ago....I miss him very much and I know that were he with me he would be so, so delighted with the support from St Andrew's and other charities. Being blind for most of my life and having serious back and mobility problems has meant I have not been able to work for some years. Without you continuing to listen and care things would be even more difficult for me. I thank you all every day for the joy my new kitchen will bring me. I am eternally grateful."

"Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kind Christmas Gift, also throughout the year."

"I would just like to thank you and your team so much for providing my client with a cheque which will allow her to continue to go out doing her daily duties in the community on her mobility scooter. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with St Andrew's."
